Faith vs. Fertility

Infertility has always been a sensitive topic. No one likes to discuss how their baby journey may deviate from the norm. What does it take for a man to be labeled infertile? If a man is unable to achieve pregnancy with a female partner after a year of unprotected sex, this man would be considered infertile. Society regularly talks about female infertility - from fibroids to PCOS you name it. Yet, we have not normalized the male experience in that journey to pregnancy. The flips, twists, and emotional roller coaster my wife and I went on earlier in our marriage was something I felt should be shared. Not for the purpose of telling a good story, but with the intention of bringing awareness and inciting spiritual hope. 

In an effort to be as vulnerable and transparent as possible, most chapters have journal entries from that time. By including those, my hope is to give the reader in depth insight into how I really felt. My raw emotions are shared for all to see how this battle with fertility really had me all over the place. It also shows that fertility was far from the only thing I had going on during that time. So many other obstacles, trials, losses and triumphs came my way during that period that shaped the entire journey. The journey was multifaceted - matching the true circumstances of our lives. I want it all to be shared.
